The Science Behind The Treatment
The patient's face is cleansed and ultrasound coupling gel is applied. Dr. Rashmika selects the treatment zones based on the lifting goals: jawline (4.5mm SMAS + 3mm deep dermis cartridges), mid-face (4.5mm + 3mm), brow (1.5mm superficial), and neck (4.5mm + 3mm). The HIFU transducer is applied to the skin and delivers a series of focused ultrasound shots in lines or grids across each treatment zone. Each shot feels like a brief, deep heat pulse or tingling sensation. The 4.5mm SMAS passes are the most intense — patients feel a deep warming sensation during these. Total facial and neck treatment takes 60–90 minutes. No anaesthesia is required but topical numbing cream is offered for comfort. Mild redness and swelling resolve within a few hours. Some patients experience mild soreness in the jaw area for 2–3 days (from SMAS stimulation) — this is normal and resolves spontaneously.

Pre-Treatment Steps
- • Avoid active retinoids and harsh exfoliants 3 days prior
- • Inform doctor of any active cold sores or medication
- • Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin
Post-Treatment Guidelines
- • Mild swelling and redness for a few hours is normal — this resolves without treatment.
- • Some patients experience mild tenderness in the jaw and neck area for 2–5 days — take prescribed paracetamol if needed.
- • Avoid hot showers, steam, and saunas for 24 hours post-treatment.
- • Apply SPF 50+ the following morning and maintain strict sun protection.
- • Do not apply makeup for 12 hours after the procedure.
- • Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
- • Be patient — HIFU results build progressively over 3–6 months as new collagen forms.
