The Science Behind The Treatment
The GFC procedure begins with the patient having 16–20ml of blood drawn from the arm vein, identical to a standard blood test. The blood is processed in a closed GFC tube system using a specific dual-spin centrifuge protocol that separates the growth factor concentrate from red blood cells and platelet-poor plasma. The resulting GFC gel is yellow-amber and highly viscous. Meanwhile, the scalp is cleansed with a mild antiseptic solution and a topical numbing cream (EMLA/LMX) is applied and left for 30 minutes. After thorough numbing, the scalp is marked in a grid pattern based on the areas of concern (typically frontal hairline, vertex, and temporal recessions). The GFC is then injected using a series of small intradermal injections at 1cm intervals across the mapped area. Alternatively, the GFC can be applied topically and driven in using a microneedling device (Dermapen 4). The entire procedure takes 45–60 minutes. No bandaging is required. Patients can wash their hair after 24 hours.

- • Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin
Post-Treatment Guidelines
- • Do not wash your hair for 24 hours after the session.
- • Avoid direct sun exposure to the scalp for 48 hours post-treatment.
- • Do not apply any chemical hair products (colour, relaxers, strong shampoos) for 5 days.
- • Avoid swimming pools (chlorine) and sweating heavily (gym, steam) for 48 hours.
- • Use only the prescribed gentle shampoo and conditioner for the first week.
- • Avoid hair dryers on hot settings — use cool air only for 1 week.
- • Take prescribed supplements (biotin, iron, vitamin D) consistently throughout the course.
