Ideal Candidates
Excellent for patients with suntan, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) from acne, uneven skin tone, mild melasma, dull skin, and skin texture concerns. Salicylic-mandelic peels are specifically recommended for Indian skin (Fitzpatrick III–V) as they are highly effective with a lower risk of PIH than aggressive glycolic or TCA peels.

Medical Foundation
The Science Behind The Treatment
The skin is thoroughly cleansed and degreased with an acetone or isopropyl alcohol preparation. A fan brush or gauze is used to apply the peel solution in an even, systematic layer starting from the forehead, then cheeks, nose, and chin. The patient experiences a mild tingling or burning sensation that peaks within 60–90 seconds and then subsides. The peel is left for 2–5 minutes depending on the depth targeted and patient response (frosting for medium-depth peels). The neutralising solution is then applied to stop the peel reaction, and the skin is thoroughly rinsed. A calming, ceramide-based moisturiser and high-SPF sunscreen are applied. The skin will appear mildly flushed for 24–48 hours, followed by fine desquamation (peeling) over 3–5 days, revealing brighter skin underneath. Total procedure time: 30–40 minutes.

Pre-Treatment Steps
- • Avoid active retinoids and harsh exfoliants 3 days prior
- • Inform doctor of any active cold sores or medication
- • Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin
Post-Treatment Guidelines
- • Apply prescribed soothing cream (ceramide or aloe-based) 2–3 times daily for the first 3 days.
- • Do not exfoliate, scrub, or use AHA/BHA products for 7 days post-peel.
- • Do not peel or pick at flaking skin — allow it to shed naturally to prevent scarring.
- • Apply SPF 50+ PA++++ sunscreen every morning and reapply every 2–3 hours outdoors.
- • Use only gentle, sulphate-free face wash for 1 week post-peel.
- • Avoid steam rooms, hot yoga, or any activity that causes sweating for 5 days.
- • Restart prescribed retinol or actives only after 7 days and full healing of the peel.
