Medical Foundation
The Science Behind The Treatment
The face is cleansed and the BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) injection sites are marked: 5 specific points on each side of the face at anatomically safe zones away from major vessels and nerves. Topical anaesthetic is applied for 20 minutes. Each BAP site receives a bolus injection of 0.2ml Profhilo using a 27G needle. Total of 10 injection points for the full face (1ml per side, 2ml total). The HA disperses rapidly through the subdermal tissue plane, spreading up to 2cm from each injection point. Some patients experience mild lumps at injection sites that resolve within 24–48 hours as the Profhilo redistributes. Total procedure time: 20 minutes. Profhilo is repeated exactly 4 weeks later for the second of the two-session protocol.

Pre-Treatment Steps
- • Avoid active retinoids and harsh exfoliants 3 days prior
- • Inform doctor of any active cold sores or medication
- • Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin
Post-Treatment Guidelines
- • Mild lumps at injection points are normal — they represent the Profhilo depot and redistribute within 24–48 hours.
- • Do not massage the face for 24 hours — allow the Profhilo to redistribute naturally.
- • Avoid vigorous exercise for 24 hours post-treatment.
- • Apply SPF 50+ the following morning.
- • Avoid facials, peels, or other skin treatments for 1 week post-Profhilo injection.
- • Mild redness or bruising at injection sites resolves within 24–72 hours — apply arnica gel if needed.
- • Stay well hydrated post-treatment — the HA draws moisture from surrounding tissue and deep hydration supports the distribution process.
