The Science Behind The Treatment
Minor's starch-iodine test is performed to define the exact treatment area: iodine solution is applied to the underarm, allowed to dry, then starch powder is dusted over it. The patient is warmed slightly to stimulate sweating. The sweating zones turn dark blue, precisely mapping the treatment area. The mapped area is cleaned with antiseptic. Botox (100 units for both underarms) is diluted in saline and drawn into multiple insulin syringes. Intradermal injections are placed in a grid pattern (1cm spacing) across the entire marked treatment zone — approximately 15–20 injection points per underarm. Palmar treatment requires nerve block anaesthesia (median and ulnar) before injection due to the density of nerve endings in the palm. The procedure takes 20–30 minutes. Results develop over 5–7 days and are typically transformative for patients with severe hyperhidrosis.

- • Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin
Post-Treatment Guidelines
- • Avoid vigorous exercise for 24 hours post-treatment.
- • Avoid antiperspirant application to the treated area for 24 hours.
- • Mild bruising or redness at injection points is normal and resolves within 24–48 hours.
- • Do not apply heat packs or have hot showers over the treated area for 24 hours.
- • Resume normal activities from the next day.
- • Sweating in treated areas reduces progressively over 5–7 days — full effect visible at 2 weeks.
- • Return for treatment when sweating returns to pre-treatment levels, typically at 6–9 months.
