The Science Behind The Treatment
For cryotherapy: the wart/corn is identified. The cryotherapy spray tip is held 5–10mm from the lesion surface and activated for 10–30 seconds (depending on wart size and depth), creating a visible ice ball that encompasses the entire lesion and a 1–2mm margin of surrounding skin. A thawing period of 60–90 seconds follows, then a second freeze cycle may be performed. The treated area becomes white and hard, then thaws to blisters over 24–48 hours. The blister and underlying wart tissue shed over 1–2 weeks. For corns: after soaking the foot in warm water, the overlying callus is removed with a sterile scalpel. The central corn core is grasped with forceps and extracted in full — providing immediate relief of the deep pressure pain.

Pre-Treatment Steps
- • Avoid active retinoids and harsh exfoliants 3 days prior
- • Inform doctor of any active cold sores or medication
- • Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin
Post-Treatment Guidelines
- • After cryotherapy, blisters may form at the treatment site — do not burst them.
- • Allow blisters to break naturally — cover with a sterile dressing and antiseptic cream.
- • Keep the area clean and dry for 1 week.
- • For plantar warts: avoid walking barefoot in public areas (pools, gyms) to prevent reinfection.
- • Apply prescribed antiviral cream (if prescribed) to surrounding skin to reduce HPV load.
- • Wear comfortable, non-compressive footwear post-corn removal to prevent rapid recurrence.
- • Return for review in 3–4 weeks to assess response and plan next session if needed.
