Medical Foundation
The Science Behind The Treatment
The patient is seated in a comfortable treatment chair. The area around the elbow (antecubital fossa) or hand is cleaned with alcohol swabs. A 23G butterfly needle is inserted into a peripheral vein and secured. Glutathione (600–1200mg in 50–100ml normal saline) is connected to the IV line and infused slowly over 20–30 minutes. Vitamin C (3–5g in 50ml saline) may be co-infused in a separate syringe or simultaneously. The patient rests comfortably throughout the infusion. Vital signs are monitored. The drip line is removed after completion and the site is dressed with a sterile cotton ball and tape. Most patients experience a faint warmth during the infusion — this is normal. Total appointment duration: 30–45 minutes.

Pre-Treatment Steps
- • Avoid active retinoids and harsh exfoliants 3 days prior
- • Inform doctor of any active cold sores or medication
- • Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin
Post-Treatment Guidelines
- • Keep the IV site dry and clean for 2–3 hours after infusion.
- • Stay well hydrated — drink 1–2 glasses of water immediately after the infusion.
- • Avoid alcohol for 48 hours post-infusion — alcohol depletes glutathione levels.
- • Continue prescribed SPF 50+ sunscreen daily — IV glutathione results are reversed by UV exposure.
- • Avoid strenuous exercise for 12 hours post-infusion — rest allows optimal absorption.
- • Inform the clinic immediately if you experience any unusual side effects (itching, rash, palpitations).
- • Take prescribed oral glutathione supplement on non-infusion days to maintain systemic levels.
